Community Music Academy

Mid-Texas Symphony proudly provides support for Texas Lutheran University Community Music Academy’s Outreach Class at New Braunfels’ Seele Elementary under the instruction of Bethany Raynes. The TLU CMA offers four similar classes at elementary schools in Segiun and Geromino, providing a free, two-year group curriculum in violin and cello at greatly discounted instrument rentals. The TLU CMA also offers Youth Orchestras and Youth Choirs for young musicians of all skill levels. For more information visit

Lindenbaum Outreach Program:

  • Free, 2-year Strings Class curriculum; after-school classes at Rodrquez, Patlan, Koennecke, Navarro, and Seele Elementary Schools. Extremely affordable instrument rentals
    • 96 students enrolled this year
  • Beginning Choir draws from entire community, they meet at TLU
    • 37 students enrolled this year
  • Strings Class and Beginning Choir graduates are given scholarships covering their participation and continued music education in the Youth Orchestras and Youth Choirs as well as discounts for the CMA's Summer Camps


  • Beginning and Intermediate Orchestras, "CMA Performers"
    • 80 students enrolled this year
  • Intermediate Choir and Advanced Choir
    • 100 students enrolled this year

Private Lessons & Summer Camps

  • Private lessons in violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar are offered year-round at very reasonable rates
  • Strings Camp and Vocal Arts camp offered every summer, again at a very affordable cost
