Libby Zwicky Barnette-Principal Horn

Libby Zwicky Barnette is Principal horn of the Mid-Texas Symphony. She has been freelancing
and teaching in the San Antonio area since 2011. She frequently plays with the San Antonio
Symphony. Libby was a member of the Omaha Symphony for two years before moving to
Texas. Prior to that, she was a member of the United States Air Force Heartland of America
Band for nearly nine years, separating in 2007 to spend more time with her two girls.

Her husband currently plays tuba in the Air Force Band of the West. Ms. Barnette has performed in
bands and orchestras all over the world, including Mexico, Japan, Germany, Belgium, France
and Italy. Ms. Barnette received both a Bachelor and Master of Music degree from Rice University. Her
teachers include Bill VerMeulen, Thomas Bacon and Bill Caballero.
